Workshop on ‘MOOCs’ conducted on 1st April 2023

Al-Barkaat Institute of Education organized a Workshop on MOOCs for the students of B.Ed. on 1st April 2023. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Tabassum Qamar, Assistant Professor, ABIE as a Resource Person.
At the beginning of the workshop students were made aware of the various platforms providing MOOC courses at national and international level like KhanAcademy, Coursera, Udemy etc. Later some MOOCs initives in India were discussed with them like Swayam, NPTEL, Bombay IIT etc.
Then students were given the brief about the Swayam portal, which is an online portal launched by the government of India to provide free and quality e-learning education to students from Class 9th till post-graduation with the objective of achieving three principles of education – access, equity, and quality.
During this workshop students were also encouraged to join the courses available on Swayam to enhance their knowledge. Proper guidance was provided how one can join any course available on such platforms.
