Quami Ekta Week 2017
“National Integration Week” or “Quami Ekta Week” was observed by Al-Barkaat Institute of Education from 19th to 25th November, 2017. With a view to foster and reinforce the spirit of Communal Harmony, National Integration and pride in vibrant, composite culture and nationhood the week is observed every year all over the country. It provides an opportunity to reaffirm age old traditions and faith in the values of tolerance, co-existence and brotherhood in a multi-cultural and multi-religious society.
The studenst of B.Ed. and D.El.Ed. participated in the programmes organized during the week. The programmes were as follows:
- November 19, 2017 – National Integration Day
Seminar on the theme of secularism, anti-communalism and non-violence was organised.
- November 20, 2017 – Welfare of Minorities Day
Government policies and schemes along with Items of the 15 Point Programme were discussed through slide presentation and speeches by the students.
- November 21, 2017 – Linguistic Harmony Day
Kavi Sammelan was organized to enable the students to appreciate the linguistic heritage of India.
- November 22, 2017 – Weaker Sections Day
Discussion was held by the students to highlight the programmes under various Governments which help SCs/STs and weaker sections with particular emphasis on the distribution of surplus land to landless labourers.
- November 23, 2017 – Cultural Unity Day
Skits on ‘Unity in Diversity’, ‘Conservation of Indian Culture’ and ‘National Integration’ were prepared by the students.
- November 24, 2017 – Women’s Day
Discussion was held to highlight the importance of Women in Indian Society and their role in development of nation-building.
- November 25, 2017 – Conservation Day
Awareness session was organized to emphasize the growing need for awareness and action to conserve the environment.
