Al-Barkaat Institute of Education organized a Guest Lecture on ‘Career Counseling’ for the students of B.Ed. on 05^th September 2024. Professor Sajid Jamal, Department of Education, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh was the eminent Resource Person. The lecture was held offline and around 60 students attended the lecture. The lecture was interactive and focused on getting the proper counseling for choosing a right career.

The lecture was started by highlighting the importance of counseling in choosing a right career in life. He first stated the difference between guidance and counselling. Then he highlighted the importance of career counseling in shaping the life of a person.

He went on to explain when and at what stage a student needs counseling and as a teacher how can he/she be counseled properly. Proper counseling helps in achieving their life goal.

He then discussed the main components or steps of counseling like diagnosing the problem, information gathering, assessment then remedial measures.

The lecture was well-received by the audience, and many participants expressed their gratitude for the practical advice provided by the guest speaker. Overall, the lecture was a great success and will undoubtedly help the future teachers in their career development.
